§ 01 · Modus Operandi

How the scam operates.

AAFX Trading presents itself through aafxtrading.com as a forex and financial trading platform. Operations of this type typically maintain a professional-looking web presence, advertise competitive spreads or returns, and use promotional offers to attract retail investors seeking exposure to currency markets or derivative products. The surface presentation is designed to approximate the appearance of a regulated brokerage and to inspire sufficient confidence for an initial deposit.

The operator appears on the FCA's Binary Options Warning List, which identifies firms offering binary options to UK retail consumers without the required regulatory authorisation. Fraudulent binary options operations typically follow a recognisable sequence: deposits are accepted without friction, early minor withdrawals may be honoured to establish trust, and then increasingly aggressive account management begins. Fabricated trading results, bonus schemes with embedded withdrawal restrictions, and manufactured urgency around further deposits are standard features of this fraud category.

The breakdown typically occurs when victims attempt to withdraw a meaningful portion of their balance. Requests are delayed, subjected to escalating document demands or unexplained fee requirements, or refused outright on pretextual grounds. At this stage the platform may become unresponsive or account access may be restricted. Victims of this pattern are subsequently at elevated risk of contact from third-party recovery firms, some of which are operated by parties connected to the original fraud.

§ 02 · Identifying Signals

Red flags we documented.

  • 01
    Guaranteed daily / weekly returns
Legitimate trading platforms do not promise fixed returns of "5% per day" or "30% per month". Real markets have variance; anything advertising guaranteed yield in this range is structurally impossible to deliver and is the strongest single signal of a fraudulent platform.
  • 02
    Withdrawal triggers a "release fee"
When a user requests withdrawal, the platform invents a new charge, "tax clearance", "anti-money-laundering fee", "withdrawal upgrade", that must be paid before funds release. This is extortion. The original deposit is already gone; the second-stage fee is the operator extracting additional value before disappearing.
  • 03
Account manager pushes for higher deposits
A named "account manager" (often via Telegram or WhatsApp) urges progressively larger deposits, frames hesitation as "missing the opportunity", and discourages independent verification. This social-engineering pattern is consistent across investment-fraud operations and rarely appears at licensed brokers.
  • 04
    No verifiable regulator registration
The platform claims regulation by a real authority but the regulator's public register has no record of the firm, or has an explicit warning notice. Always check the source register directly, not the platform's own claims.

What you can do now.

Open a free 24-hour case assessment with CryptoLeek +

Tell us what happened. A senior analyst reads your file within 24 hours and replies with an honest yes/no/conditional on recovery. The assessment is free. If we cannot recover the funds we say so plainly, including which (free) regulator channel you should use instead. If we accept the case, we open a numbered case file and issue a written quote for a flat investigation retainer before any work begins, scoped to case complexity, the jurisdictions involved, and the on-chain trail.

Trace your funds on-chain with our analysts +

We trace stolen crypto across BTC, ETH, EVM L2s, Solana, Tron, and major stablecoins using the same toolchain as regulators and tier-1 exchange compliance teams. The output is a forensic report anchored to specific transaction hashes and block heights, the evidence that exchanges, payment processors, and counsel actually act on. Recovery starts here.

Recover with counsel where civil action makes sense +

Where the trace lands in a jurisdiction with cooperative banks and courts, we coordinate with bar-licensed counsel in our 40+ jurisdiction network for civil action and asset-freezing orders (Mareva-style). Counsel bill you directly; the CryptoLeek investigation retainer is independent of counsel fees. The outcome is funds released back to your nominated wallet or bank account.
