Victims are guided through a deposit process, after which a fabricated account balance or profit display is used to encourage further deposits. The operator controls the figures shown to the user; actual funds are not deployed in any legitimate market. Pressure to increase exposure often follows, framed as exclusive opportunities or time-limited offers. Throughout this phase, small withdrawal tests may succeed to reinforce trust before the position becomes larger.
The critical breakdown occurs when victims attempt a meaningful withdrawal. At this stage, the platform typically introduces friction: account verification requirements, tax or compliance fees presented as mandatory, or outright suspension of withdrawal functionality.
