How the scam operates.
Instant Options presents itself through instant-options.com as an online trading platform targeting retail investors with binary options: a product class built on short-duration price predictions with fixed-payout outcomes. The surface appeal lies in apparent simplicity. Marketing associated with this category typically emphasises speed and the prospect of consistent returns while minimising risk disclosures. Prospective clients are often reached through digital advertising or referral networks rather than regulated intermediaries.
Binary options platforms operating without regulatory oversight follow a recognisable pattern. Users deposit funds, typically modest amounts at first, and observe what appears to be a functioning trading interface. Reported balances may grow convincingly on screen. Because the operator controls both the interface and the settlement logic, displayed results need not reflect genuine market exposure. Pressure to increase deposits is a consistent feature: account managers encourage further capital commitment on the basis of pending profits, bonuses, or minimum balance thresholds.
The pattern breaks down when users attempt to withdraw funds. At that point, operators introduce conditions undisclosed at account-opening: verification requirements, tax-withholding demands, volume thresholds, or platform fees designed to delay or prevent withdrawal. Users who persist may find communications become evasive or cease entirely. The FCA's listing of Instant Options on its unauthorised firms register confirms the operator is not authorised to provide financial services in the UK, leaving users with limited formal recourse.
Red flags we documented.
- 01Listed on the FCA Unauthorised Firms Warning RegisterThe Financial Conduct Authority maintains a public warning list of firms operating without authorisation in the UK. Instant Options appears on that list. Engaging with an unauthorised firm means clients fall outside the UK regulatory framework, including access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
- 02Binary Options: A Product Class Banned for UK Retail ClientsThe FCA permanently banned the sale of binary options to retail consumers in the UK in 2019, citing the high risk of consumer harm and the prevalence of fraud in the sector. A platform continuing to offer this product to UK residents operates in direct contravention of that prohibition, regardless of where the operator is incorporated.
- 03Withdrawal Obstruction as a Structural SignalAcross binary options fraud cases, the withdrawal stage is where the operation's true nature becomes apparent. Conditions applied at that point, including undisclosed fees, compliance holds, and volume requirements, are consistent features of platforms that never intended to return client funds. Communication commonly deteriorates sharply once a withdrawal is requested.
- 04No Verifiable Regulatory OversightInstant Options does not appear on the FCA's register of authorised firms. Without a verifiable licence from a recognised financial regulator, there is no independent body enforcing conduct standards, segregating client funds, or ensuring the operator has the financial resources to meet obligations to users.
- 05Opaque Operator IdentityPlatforms of this type rarely publish clear information about their legal entity, directors, or country of incorporation. The absence of a verifiable corporate structure is a consistent feature of operations that rely on distance from their clients and difficulty being traced when disputes arise.
What you can do now.
Open a free 24-hour case assessment with CryptoLeek +
Tell us what happened. A senior analyst reads your file within 24 hours and replies with an honest yes/no/conditional on recovery. The assessment is free. If we cannot recover the funds we say so plainly, including which (free) regulator channel you should use instead. If we accept the case, we open a numbered case file and issue a written quote for a flat investigation retainer before any work begins, scoped to case complexity, the jurisdictions involved, and the on-chain trail.
Trace your funds on-chain with our analysts +
We trace stolen crypto across BTC, ETH, EVM L2s, Solana, Tron, and major stablecoins using the same toolchain as regulators and tier-1 exchange compliance teams. The output is a forensic report anchored to specific transaction hashes and block heights, the evidence that exchanges, payment processors, and counsel actually act on. Recovery starts here.
Recover with counsel where civil action makes sense +
Where the trace lands in a jurisdiction with cooperative banks and courts, we coordinate with bar-licensed counsel in our 40+ jurisdiction network for civil action and asset-freezing orders (Mareva-style). Counsel bill you directly; the CryptoLeek investigation retainer is independent of counsel fees. The outcome is funds released back to your nominated wallet or bank account.
