How the scam operates.
The site presents itself as a legitimate Ethereum wallet interface, leveraging a domain name constructed to closely resemble a widely recognised Ethereum wallet platform. The choice of domain is deliberate: the operator targets users who are searching for, or attempting to navigate directly to, the genuine service, exploiting the trust and name recognition that the authentic brand carries within the cryptocurrency community.
Brand-impersonation operations of this type typically function as credential-harvesting or seed-phrase phishing platforms. Victims who reach the site are presented with an interface designed to replicate the visual identity of the legitimate service. The operator prompts users to enter private keys, seed phrases, or wallet credentials, ostensibly to access or restore their wallet. Once submitted, those credentials are captured and the operator gains full control of the associated wallet and its contents.
The fraud typically becomes apparent only after the fact, when a victim notices that funds have been drained from their wallet without authorisation. By that point, the operator has already swept the wallet contents to addresses under their control. Recovery through conventional channels is extremely limited; blockchain transactions are irreversible, and operators running lookalike infrastructure of this kind are rarely traceable to any identifiable individual or entity.
Red flags we documented.
- 01Lookalike domain targeting a recognised brandThe domain is constructed to closely resemble that of a well-established Ethereum wallet service, a hallmark of typosquat and lookalike-domain operations. This pattern exists specifically to intercept users who intend to reach a legitimate platform, relying on visual similarity rather than any genuine service offering.
- 02Non-standard TLD deployed as camouflageThe use of an atypical top-level domain (.abbott) combined with a recognisable brand-like string is a known tactic for evading simple domain-matching filters while still misleading users on visual inspection. The unconventional TLD lends a superficial air of distinctiveness while preserving the deceptive brand signal.
- 03Listed on CryptoScamDB community blacklistThe domain appears on the CryptoScamDB blacklist, a community-maintained registry that aggregates reports from security researchers, wallet providers, and fraud victims. Inclusion indicates documented reports of fraudulent activity and is treated as a confirmed signal by browser-level and wallet-level security tooling.
- 04Seed-phrase interface carries irreversible-loss riskPlatforms impersonating wallet interfaces are especially dangerous because their core interaction requires users to submit highly sensitive credentials. Unlike a compromised password, a captured seed phrase results in permanent, irrecoverable loss of control over every asset associated with that wallet, across all chains.
- 05No identifiable operator or regulatory presenceThere is no publicly documented legal entity, regulatory registration, or accountability structure associated with this domain. Legitimate cryptocurrency service providers operating in this space maintain some form of verifiable organisational presence; its complete absence here is consistent with deliberate opacity.
What you can do now.
Open a free 24-hour case assessment with CryptoLeek +
Tell us what happened. A senior analyst reads your file within 24 hours and replies with an honest yes/no/conditional on recovery. The assessment is free. If we cannot recover the funds we say so plainly, including which (free) regulator channel you should use instead. If we accept the case, we open a numbered case file and issue a written quote for a flat investigation retainer before any work begins, scoped to case complexity, the jurisdictions involved, and the on-chain trail.
Trace your funds on-chain with our analysts +
We trace stolen crypto across BTC, ETH, EVM L2s, Solana, Tron, and major stablecoins using the same toolchain as regulators and tier-1 exchange compliance teams. The output is a forensic report anchored to specific transaction hashes and block heights, the evidence that exchanges, payment processors, and counsel actually act on. Recovery starts here.
Recover with counsel where civil action makes sense +
Where the trace lands in a jurisdiction with cooperative banks and courts, we coordinate with bar-licensed counsel in our 40+ jurisdiction network for civil action and asset-freezing orders (Mareva-style). Counsel bill you directly; the CryptoLeek investigation retainer is independent of counsel fees. The outcome is funds released back to your nominated wallet or bank account.
