- 01Domain impersonation of a recognised wallet platformThe domain myetherwallet.actor is constructed to evoke a well-known Ethereum wallet brand while using a non-standard top-level domain. This pattern, known as typosquatting or domain spoofing, is a foundational technique in phishing operations targeting cryptocurrency users who may not scrutinise the full URL before entering credentials.
- 02Non-standard TLD with no legitimate precedentGenuine self-custody wallet interfaces operate on established, verifiable domains. The .actor top-level domain has no recognised precedent among legitimate financial or cryptocurrency service providers, and is a strong indicator that the domain was registered specifically to deceive rather than to serve a bona fide product.
- 03CryptoScamDB blacklist inclusionThe domain appears in the CryptoScamDB community blacklist, a widely referenced dataset used by browser extensions, wallet software, and security researchers to block known phishing and fraud URLs. Blacklist inclusion reflects a documented community determination that the site poses a risk to users.
- 04Credential-solicitation pattern inconsistent with legitimate walletsSelf-custody wallet interfaces do not require users to submit seed phrases or private keys to a web server. Any interface that requests such input is either compromised or fraudulent by design. This is the clearest operational signal that the platform's purpose is asset theft rather than genuine wallet access.
- 05No verifiable operator or regulatory presenceNo documented company registration, regulatory authorisation, or accountable operator has been identified behind this domain. Legitimate financial service providers maintain verifiable corporate identities. The absence of any such information is consistent with an operation designed to avoid accountability.
Lo que puedes hacer ahora.
Open a free 24-hour case assessment with CryptoLeek +
Tell us what happened. A senior analyst reads your file within 24 hours and replies with an honest yes/no/conditional on recovery. The assessment is free. If we cannot recover the funds we say so plainly, including which (free) regulator channel you should use instead. If we accept the case, we open a numbered case file and issue a written quote for a flat investigation retainer before any work begins, scoped to case complexity, the jurisdictions involved, and the on-chain trail.
Trace your funds on-chain with our analysts +
We trace stolen crypto across BTC, ETH, EVM L2s, Solana, Tron, and major stablecoins using the same toolchain as regulators and tier-1 exchange compliance teams. The output is a forensic report anchored to specific transaction hashes and block heights, the evidence that exchanges, payment processors, and counsel actually act on. Recovery starts here.
Recover with counsel where civil action makes sense +
Where the trace lands in a jurisdiction with cooperative banks and courts, we coordinate with bar-licensed counsel in our 40+ jurisdiction network for civil action and asset-freezing orders (Mareva-style). Counsel bill you directly; the CryptoLeek investigation retainer is independent of counsel fees. The outcome is funds released back to your nominated wallet or bank account.
