Cómo opera la estafa.
myetherwallet.cc presents itself as a legitimate Ethereum wallet interface. The domain is constructed to be visually and typographically indistinguishable from a widely recognised cryptocurrency wallet service, differing only in its top-level domain (.cc in place of the established .com). The target audience is existing users of that legitimate service who arrive via misdirected searches, phishing links, or social-media redirects, and who have no reason to scrutinise the domain closely before interacting.
The operational pattern of a site of this type is credential harvesting. Visitors are shown a replica interface, wallet login screens, seed-phrase entry fields, or private-key import prompts, that closely mirrors the genuine product. Any credentials entered are transmitted to the operator rather than processed locally. Because Ethereum wallet authentication depends on possessing a private key or seed phrase, a single successful submission is sufficient to grant the operator permanent, irreversible access to all associated funds.
The point of failure is typically invisible until after the fact. Victims notice nothing unusual at the moment of entry; the damage becomes apparent only when funds are absent from their wallet or when they attempt to access their assets through the legitimate service and find them already moved. At that stage, transactions on-chain are irreversible. Recovery options are narrow and depend on the speed of identification, the traceability of the receiving addresses, and whether exchange-level cooperation can be secured, none of which are guaranteed.
Banderas rojas que documentamos.
- 01TLD-substitution impersonation patternThe domain replicates the exact name of a well-established Ethereum wallet service while swapping the top-level domain from .com to .cc. This substitution is a documented technique used to intercept users who mistype or follow unverified links, and it has no plausible legitimate business justification.
- 02CryptoScamDB blacklist listingThe domain appears in CryptoScamDB's community-maintained blacklist, a widely referenced reference that aggregates confirmed phishing and fraud infrastructure. Inclusion is an independent corroborating signal beyond the domain-pattern analysis alone.
- 03Credential-harvesting risk inherent to the platform typeAny site presenting itself as a non-custodial wallet interface and soliciting a seed phrase or private key is structurally capable of fund theft. Legitimate wallet software processes credentials client-side and never transmits them. A lookalike site that breaks this model can drain wallets silently and immediately.
- 04No documented operator or regulatory standingThe .cc registration provides no publicly verifiable operator identity, corporate registration, or regulatory authorisation. Legitimate financial-services platforms operating in this space are expected to disclose jurisdictional registration at minimum. The absence of any such disclosure compounds the risk profile.
- 05Irreversibility amplifies the operation's impactEthereum transactions are final. Once an operator in possession of harvested credentials moves funds, on-chain reversal is not possible. This structural feature of the underlying network is routinely exploited by impersonation operations precisely because the window for victim intervention is extremely narrow.

Open a free 24-hour case assessment with CryptoLeek +
Tell us what happened. A senior analyst reads your file within 24 hours and replies with an honest yes/no/conditional on recovery. The assessment is free. If we cannot recover the funds we say so plainly, including which (free) regulator channel you should use instead. If we accept the case, we open a numbered case file and issue a written quote for a flat investigation retainer before any work begins, scoped to case complexity, the jurisdictions involved, and the on-chain trail.
Trace your funds on-chain with our analysts +
We trace stolen crypto across BTC, ETH, EVM L2s, Solana, Tron, and major stablecoins using the same toolchain as regulators and tier-1 exchange compliance teams. The output is a forensic report anchored to specific transaction hashes and block heights, the evidence that exchanges, payment processors, and counsel actually act on. Recovery starts here.
Recover with counsel where civil action makes sense +
Where the trace lands in a jurisdiction with cooperative banks and courts, we coordinate with bar-licensed counsel in our 40+ jurisdiction network for civil action and asset-freezing orders (Mareva-style). Counsel bill you directly; the CryptoLeek investigation retainer is independent of counsel fees. The outcome is funds released back to your nominated wallet or bank account.
